Who We Are
Bruce Peninsula Hospice (“BPH”) is committed to providing compassionate and non-medical care to support individuals and families at no cost on the Bruce Peninsula and surrounding area.
Volunteers receive specialty Hospice Palliative Care and Nav-Care training and help us provide the following services: In-home Support, Bereavement Support, Live Well at Home and Nav-CARE. The Opportunity
BPH is seeking a detailed-orientated and organized individual to assist our team with marketing and administrative tasks to support BPH’s outreach and community services. Tasks include assisting in the development of special community events, digital marketing and advertising, and database and website maintenance. Supported by the organization’s Executive Director and working with a team of dedicated, passionate volunteers and staff members, the candidate will help promote our organizations’ services, grow our compassionate community connections and assist in growing donor support. The successful candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, an understanding of digital marketing and database technologies, and a commitment to quality and confidentiality.
This is a contract position.
The Role
Responsible to the Executive Director, the Marketing Coordinator will:
- Assist in the design of promotional materials, including but not limited to coordinating print and digital materials for fundraising and appreciation events.
- Contribute to and advertise through online marketing platforms such as Meta (Facebook), LinkedIn, and WordPress.
- Draft and review copy for articles, newsletters, blogs, and print materials.
- Participate in external organization activities as assigned, and preparing and setting up displays as needed.
- Provide administrative support through answering phone calls and emails, and assist with completing and filing documents when required.
- Adhere to all organization policies and procedures, and respect and uphold confidentiality.
What You Bring
Essential
Candidates will have:
- Excellent communication skills and digital literacy;
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills;
- The ability to organize workflow and meet deadlines under minimal supervision;
- Proficienct in MS Office and Teams, Google Drive, iOs, Android, Zoom or other video conferencing programs, handheld devices and comfortable learning new computer applications;
- Self-motivation, excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, proven ability to work remotely and forge respectful, professional relationships;
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings as needed; and
- Integrity, sound judgment, tact, discretion, ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy as per PHIPA.
Assets
Ideally the candidates will:
- Have interest in community-relevant health care and community development.
- Be creative and have experience in fundraising and marketing (digital, print).
- Reside within our service area and have familiarity and knowledge of the Bruce Peninsula.
- Be able to multitask with adaptability and flexibility.
The successful candidate will be expected to complete assigned Hospice Palliative Care training, and provide a Criminal Record Check.
Requirements
This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program. Qualified candidates must be:
- Aged between 15 and 30 years old on the start date of the job;
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN); and
- Be a Canadian citizen, a permanent Resident of Canada, or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada.
