17th Annual General Meeting – Sept. 28, 2023

The Board of Directors welcomed all attendees and Chair, Pat Cavan, provided a recap of the past year’s activities and achievements. Bettyanne Waddington highlighted future plans including an upcoming Strategic Planning process, grants received which will help us expand our services and an update on new fundraising initiatives. The Treasurer, Rick Ker, gave a financial report. Bill Klingenberg’s nomination as a new Board member was ratified and Bettyanne Waddington’s renewed three-year Board term was approved.


Barb Lavigne (Voluteer Committee) presented awards to:

Gail Smart for 5 years of service.
Jean Sadler for 15 years of service

Barb also recognized the following for previously presented awards: Anita Cunningham (North Bruce Peninsula Volunteer Award), Pat Cavan (South Bruce Peninsula Volunteer Award) and Christina Mereu (June Callwood Award).

Congratulations to all our dedicated and deserving volunteers.


Nancy Forgrave, Manager of Volunteer Programs and Outreach, shared previous video interviews of two volunteers who died in the past year.  She shared details of their involvement with Bruce Peninsula Hospice, and other accomplishments they had during their lives.

Berdina Johnson

Her nephew, Beverly Nadjiwon and niece, Christine Keeshig were in attendance and Beverly shared some kind words about Berdina’s time volunteering with Hospice.


Patricia Horner

Her friends Howard and Anne James joined us and shared some memories of Pat, and how they were very thankful for the Hospice Volunteers’ compassionate presence with Pat at the end of her life, and also for how this support was helpful to them.
