Grief Support For Children and Youth
We Serve
Children and adolescents from 18 mos to 18 years old. Sessions are offered 1-to-1 with a trained grief specialist and are between 30 and 50 minutes in length.
We Offer
An opportunity to have a safe space for young people to explore feelings related to death-related loss 1-to-1 with someone who can objectively listen. Sessions are in a neutral space and can happen once a week, a few times a month, every so often – it is up to young grievers and their caregivers to decide what works best.
What These Sessions Can Look Like
Sessions can include expressive arts-based – writing, drawing, creating, enacting – and play-based activities. Exploration of grief can also include making a digital story (short film) about the experience. Digital stories are often used to help navigate the emotions and process the realities of moving forward with grief.
